GOD NOT JUST ACTING LIKE OUR PARENTS.

“God squeezes us to see what will come out,” the speaker commented.

When you squeeze a tube of toothpaste, you expect toothpaste to come out. When you squeeze a parent, what do you expect to come out?

Obviously whatever is in us will come out, especially when we are under stress and pressure. Too often, the old habits and ways of our parents come out when we react to misbehaving children.

The only way to change is to allow God to change us. In order to break with old parenting habits and destructive comments is to be changed by the power of God.

One of the most effective ways to cut of the past and become a new parent in Christ Jesus is to pray. Pray changes us.

The ineffective way to pray is, God change my child!

The effective way to pray is, God change me.

When you ask God to change you, He empowers you to break old parenting habits and to begin implementing the new. When God changes you, you will begin acting and reacting more and more like Him.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new (2 Cor. 5:17).
