55 DON’T WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING; PRAY!

55 DON’T WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING; PRAY!

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

     —Philippians 4:6

Do you spend more time worrying than praying? Has anxiety hindered your prayer life? Jesus instructs us, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble” (Matt. 6:33).

Worry wastes time; prayer sows into eternity.

Worry focuses on self; prayer focuses on God.

Worry fosters doubt; prayer builds faith.

Worry squanders hope; prayer embraces hope.

Worry declares things impossible; prayer knows that nothing is impossible with God.

Worry dreads tomorrow; prayer knows the best is yet to come.

With worry nothing is accomplished; with prayer the work of God’s kingdom goes forward.

Jesus,

I give You my worry! Amen.
