60 PRAY SCRIPTURE WITH EACH OTHER
“I don’t know how to pray for or with my spouse,” confessed a frustrated husband. Coming up with the right words may be difficult, especially for men who often have a private prayer life they are reluctant to share with their wives. An abundance of passages exist throughout the Bible that can be prayed with or over your spouse. The most common way to pray is to substitute your spouse’s name for the personal pronoun in the text. For example, “The Lord is_____’s shepherd; ___shall not want.”
Here is a list of great passages to pray with and for each other:
Numbers 6—Praying blessing
Deuteronomy 28—Praying prosperity
Psalm 23—Praying nurture
Psalm 51—Praying repentance
Psalm 91—Praying protection
Psalm 103—Praying praise and healing
Matthew 6—Praying the Lord’s prayer
1 Corinthians 13—Praying love
Ephesians 1—Praying grace and understanding
Ephesians 3—Praying the indwelling of Christ
2 Peter 1—Praying maturity
