65 HUSBAND, GO FIRST TO BATTLE FOR AND PROTECT YOUR
WIFE

Husbands are warriors; wives are nurturers. As such, husband, part of being “the head of the wife” is being the protector of the wife.

The husband as the head is like being the point of a spear. The spear’s point goes first into battle and mortally wounds the enemy. Husband, if you desire to be the head of your marriage and family, then start going first.

Husband, go first into prayer.

Go first into worship.

Go first to work in providing for your family.

Go first in leading family devotions.

Go first into blessing your wife and children.

Go first into God’s new thing.

Go first into love and pleasing your wife.

Go first into breaking curses.

Go first into God’s presence.

Go first into studying and teaching God’s Word in your family.

Try this: Take the initiative in love, prayer, affirmation and worship this week. See the positive impact that will make on your marriage.

For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.
