70 TEACH A CHILD TO MANAGE MONEY NOT CREDIT.

70 TEACH A CHILD TO MANAGE MONEY NOT
CREDIT.

“My kid has a MasterCard with a $10,000 credit limit!” boasted the proud father. What this deluded father didn’t realize was that he was bragging about his child having a curse.

We wouldn’t boast about our child having an addiction like drugs or pornography, so why would we boast about his being cursed with debt?

Being cursed with debt means that our child is a slave to another master besides God. Debtors determine how much or how little the child must work to pay off the debt.

The focus becomes getting money to pay the debt instead of using money to bless others.

The Bible clearly teaches that we are to be lenders, not borrowers. Therefore, we must teach our children how to manage money so they have it to lend.

Today’s market economy says to gather up as much credit you can and live to the max in every area. After all, you can pay for today’s pleasure at reduced interest for the first six months. What they don’t say is that when you fall into that trap, you stand in danger of paying for life’s pleasures for life.

How do you handle money? Are you living an example that you want you child to emulate?

For the Lord your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you. (Deut 15:6)
