OLD
TESTAMENT; BIBLE: UNITY OF
I do not mind telling you that I have always found Jesus Christ beckoning to me throughout the Scriptures. Do not be disturbed by those who say that Old Testament portions cannot be claimed by the Christian church. God has given us the Bible as a unit, and Jesus referred in His teachings to many Old Testament portions which foretold His person and His ministries.
For illustration, I would say that it would be very difficult for a man to live and function in a physical body that existed only from the waist up. He would be without some of the vital organs necessary for the sustenance of life.
Similarly, the Bible contains two parts of one organic revelation and it is divided so that the Old Testament is the Bible from the waist down and the New Testament is the Bible from the waist up. This may give an understanding to my expression that if we have one organic Bible and we cut it in two, we actually bleed it to death and we can, in effect, kill it by cutting it.
Let us read the Bible as the Word of God and never apologize for finding Jesus Christ throughout its pages, for Jesus Christ is what the Bible is all about!
