INSTRUCTION/LEARNING

INSTRUCTION/LEARNING

Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the Lord will be happy. The wise are known for their understanding, and instruction is appreciated if it’s well presented.

Proverbs 16:20–21

The wise are glad to be instructed, but babbling fools fall flat on their faces.

Proverbs 10:8

Listen to the words of the wise; apply your heart to my instruction. Commit yourself to instruction.

Proverbs 22:17; 23:12

Teach the wise, and they will be wiser. Teach the righteous, and they will learn more.

Proverbs 9:9

A young applicant for a job as a truck driver for a Los Angeles dairy was asked if he was married. “No,” he replied. “I’m not—but I can take orders, if that’s what you mean.”

The person who knows everything has a lot to learn.

Anyone who stops learning is old, whether this happens at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps on learning not only remains young, but becomes constantly more valuable regardless of physical capacity.

Harvey Ullman

They know enough who know how to learn.

Henry Adams

An Indian was persuaded to attend an instructional lecture.

When it was all over, someone asked him what he thought of it. “Huh!” he grunted. “Big wind, lotta dust, no rain!”

As long as you live, keep learning how to live.

Seneca

Lose if you must, but don’t lose the lesson.

Learn to say no and it will do you more good than being able to speak Latin.

No one is ever too old to learn, and that may be why all of us keep putting it off.
