50 PRAISE GOD AS YOUR SOURCE
Some wives believe that their husband’s job is the source for their family. Some husband’s have made their wives their source of income to make ends meet.
When we look to each other as our source, we will always come up short. No person can ever be our source for provision, all of our needs or all of the love we require in life.
Our mates are not God; God alone is our source. When a couple turns totally to God to supply all their needs, then jobs, money and provision are put in their proper perspective.
God is the source for our finances and for our children. Consequently we learn to turn to God when our family has needs. Certainly God may use one of us to supply a need in our marriage or family. But God has many ways to meet our needs. He can use others and work miracles to meet our needs. We have but to ask Him!
Recognizing God as our source leads us to an attitude of gratitude in our lives. Instead of focusing on our lack, we focus our love and attention on the only One who can meet our needs.
Try this: With your spouse, write down all the needs that God is supplying in your marriage and family. Then spend time praising Him and giving Him thanks for being your source.
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
