68 TALK ABOUT JESUS
At times in the past, my wife would say, “You gave at the office. You have nothing left for me.” And she was right. As a pastor, I would give all day long. When I arrived home I was completely drained.
I would talk about Jesus to everyone who would listen. But at home I talked about everything else—the kids, home repairs, the weather, church business, other people, etc.
Nothing’s more exciting than talking about Jesus. Since He is the center of your marriage and family, He also needs to be the center of your conversation.
When was the last time you told your mate how much you loved Jesus or what He was doing in your life? Jesus said for us to be His witnesses first in Jerusalem and then in Judea, Samaria and to the uttermost parts of the earth. Jerusalem means at home.
Try this: Watch a Jesus video. Talk about it with your spouse. Listen to the gospels on audio tape together. Talk about Jesus.
Sit down with your spouse for an hour and do nothing but share about what Jesus is doing in your life and marriage.
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
