65 FORGIVE YOUR CHILD BEFORE HE OR SHE
REPENTS.
Proactive forgiveness is …
• Deciding that forgiveness is a must, not an option
• Announcing to your children that forgiveness will always be real in your relationship.
• Also announcing to your children the consequences for their disobedience.
• Never cheap grace.
• Always ready to reach out.
• Never waiting for the child to repent first.
• Always ready to correct and teach.
• Never condemning or critical.
• Always filled with patience and understanding.
• Never mindful of past mistakes.
• Always expecting new and positive change in us and our children.
Being always ready to forgive doesn’t mean you’re permissive. It means you are like the Father.
Your heavenly Father will forgive you if you forgive those who sin against you; but if you refuse to forgive them, he will not forgive you (Matt. 6:14) TLB.
