11 PRAY TO RELEASE RESURRECTION POWER.

11 PRAY TO RELEASE RESURRECTION POWER.

And he stretched himself out on the child three times, and cried out to the LORD and said, “O LORD my God, I pray, let this child’s soul come back to him.”

     —1 Kings 17:21

Prayer is the conduit through which God’s life flows from heaven to earth. Prayer digs a new well tapping into a fresh spring of living water that flows from the river of God’s Spirit.

When last did you pray for life to enter into a dead man’s body? The lost are dead. Are you praying for the lost?

The proud are dead. Are you praying for death to self and life in Christ?

The living dead move about us crying out for life. Theirs is merely existence.

Existence pictures reality in black and white instead of color. Existence sounds like a monotone instead of stereo. Existence knows only lack and never abundance. Existence crawls through the wilderness of loneliness without ever experiencing lasting friendship. Existence tastes like stale bread and water. Existence stumbles on every curse and bypasses every blessing. Existence only prays one prayer, “Help!”

Life comes from its creator—God. In His presence, we live, move and have our being. Prayer breathes life—life into us and through us.

Life eats fresh bread and drinks fresh water through prayer. Prayer is the tether in life that keeps us connected to God.

Cover that which is dead in prayer. Let resurrection power flow through you into what just exists. Just existing never satisfies. Living brings wholeness and fulfillment. Prayer breathes life into existence.

Prayer listens to the Father’s words and then speaks them to others. As Jesus said, “I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things” (John 8:28–29). Prayer imparts the life of God in me into others.

Father,

Speak words of life to me that I may speak life to others.

Jesus,

Incarnate your words of life in me that I may be life to others.

Spirit,

Breathe prophetic words of life through me that I may prophesy life to others. Amen.
