49 BELIEVE WHEN ASKING.
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
—Mark 11:24
How can we pray with confidence? First, we pray His will not ours be done. If what we pray is His will, then we can be confident that God will grant us our request.
Second, we pray with a pure heart to see God. We see ourselves and our situations from His perspective and not our own. We seek God’s timing, purpose and glory when we pray. Pray is always about God. We come before God never to demand what we want. We seek what He wants.
Finally, we pray with faith. In other words, our trust is in God not in our prayers. Some people have faith in faith. You can believe with all the passion you wish and still not see an answer. But you can pray passionately loving God and see His answer every time.
Jesus,
Help me to fix my eyes on You in prayer. Deepen my trust in You. Show me Your will so that I may always pray, Your will not mine be done. Amen.
