DISCIPLESHIP,
FREEDOM OF
WHAT IF you were in jail and the bail was twenty-five thousand dollars? What if I came and deposited the bail for you, they did all the paperwork, and documented that you were now free? You would have legally been declared free. The problem is that you would still be in jail. Although the payment had been paid and the paperwork had been done, there would still be a gap of time between the bail being posted, the paperwork being done, and actually getting you out. The information on paper doesn’t unlock the cell. Paperwork doesn’t unlock the cell door. You’ve got to have a key.
Jesus has posted bail because He put the price for our sins on His tab. Jesus paid it all. The paperwork has been signed. You are accepted in heaven. If you still feel like you are in your cell, then you have yet to have your door unlocked. How does this happen? Believing in Him gets you free on record. Walking with Him and growing in Him gets you free in actuality. When you continue learning and applying His Word, the Son picks up the keys and makes you actually free.211
