ENCOURAGEMENT, CHURCH AS

ENCOURAGEMENT,
CHURCH AS

WHEN my youngest son played for Baylor, they didn’t have one of the great winning programs in college football. But it was always amazing to me. I’d be sitting in the stands and watching those cheerleaders. Looking at them, you’d think we were winning. They’d be down there, on the sidelines, jumping around and yelling, “Yeah, yeah, yeah!” The score could be forty-five to nothing and the cheerleaders would still be out there supporting the team as if the team were contending for the national championship.

The church should be a place of heat that stirs people up. People need to be encouraged in their Christian walk. Sometimes, you may be the one who needs the encouragement, but when you are not the person, you should be the cheerleader who encourages others on.237
