The Followers of the Faith Are Admonished to Pray in the Spirit
"But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost" (Jdg_1:20).
Frequently we hear faithful ministers urging the need of the Holy Ghost in our preaching. Do we not need Him just as much in our praying? Perhaps the most difficult task which God has committed to the believer is the prayer-life. We know not how to pray as we ought. We are infirm in prayer, we get tired and weary. We do not go into the closet of prayer and shut the door, as often as we should.
The little Book of Jude reveals the place of victory. It tells us how to keep from stumbling. We must pray in the Spirit. He will help our infirmities. He will pray for us. He will go along with us as we pray.
We cannot pray alone any better than we can live the victorious life alone; any better than we can preach alone; any better than we can bear fruit alone. We must be filled with the Holy Ghost in order that we may pray in the Holy Ghost.
