God Hath Glorified Jesus

"The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified His Son Jesus; Whom ye delivered up, and denied Him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go" (Act_3:13).

1. Peter realized that the healing of the lame man was done that Jesus Christ might be glorified. Concerning His miracles, the Lord Himself said, in Joh_5:36 : "The same works that I do, bear witness of Me." Jesus Christ wrought as no other man ever wrought. His miracles not only showed His power in healing, but His power in raising the dead.

2. Not only was Jesus glorified by His works, but Peter said, "God hath glorified Jesus." God honored Christ’s birth by the star which guided the wise men from the East, as well as by the angels who announced His birth to the shepherds. He honored the Lord Jesus at His baptism and again at the transfiguration, by speaking out of the blue and saying, "This is My beloved Son."

The Lord Jesus was particularly glorified of God when God exalted Him to His own right hand and gave Him a name that was above every name. God is still glorifying Christ since His resurrection and ascension. He glorified Him in the healing of the lame man. He glorifies Him by every victorious service on the part of His saints. Every "new birth" magnifies the glory of grace. The believer in his daily walk magnifies the glory of Christ’s keeping power.

The supreme glory which awaits Jesus Christ will be His at His Second Coming. He will come in the glory of the Father; He will come and we shall behold the glory which He had with the Father before the world was–the whole earth will be full of His glory.
