The Children Shall Be Like Him

"Beloved, now are we the children of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is" (1Jn_3:2).

This is the climax of our Home gathering. The Lord shall call us up, and we shall be changed. "For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, and with the voice of the archangel, and the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first; then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord" (1Th_4:16-17).

When this rapture takes place, is when we become like Him. It is from Heaven that we wait for a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ; "Who shall transform the body of our humiliation, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body, according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself" (Php_3:20-21).

The second coming of Christ is the hour of the believer’s being conformed to the image of God’s Son.

And now we have before us, some of the blessings that are ours as the children of God. And, who is there that does not rejoice in the fact of sonship? What care we for the things of earth, vanishing things?

"Take the world, but give me Jesus,

That dear Friend Who loves me so,

Gladly all I leave to follow Jesus

Through this world below."
