Conversion of Saul of Tarsus

The conversion of Saul of Tarsus has many important lessons for us all.

1. There is the dispensational lesson, which should not be overlooked. Saul’s conversion is not, primarily, a sample conversion given us upon which to base the conversion of sinners during this age. The fact is that very few people have an experience at all analogous to the conversion of Saul. It would be entirely wrong to demand such an experience of people to-day.

The conversion of Saul of Tarsus is a distinct type of the conversion of Israel, which is to take place at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Paul said that he was born as one "ahead of his time," an abortive, that through him God might make manifest His power.

2. The conversion of Saul, brings also its practical and personal applications, which are most helpful. We propose to gather out some of these beautiful and helpful things. Saul always delighted in relating the story of his own conversion, and we trust it will prove very fruitful as we study it.
