0486. The Reign Asserted
The Reign Asserted
"All the ends of the world shall remember and tarn unto the- Lord:
"And all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before Thee.
"For the Kingdom is the Lord’s:
"And He is the Governor among the nations" (Psa_22:27-28).
If our Lord, as has already been suggested, repeated these words upon the Cross, we can the better understand why one of the thieves said: "Remember me when Thou comest into Thy Kingdom." At first the thief joined with the other thief in railing against Christ. Something happened to cause him to plead concerning the Kingdom. Whether the thief caught the thought of the Kingdom from words which Christ spoke we are not sure. This much we know, that Christ saw His coming Kingdom. He looked beyond Calvary to the resurrection; He looked beyond the resurrection, to the days when His praises should be in the great congregations; He looked beyond the resurrection and beyond the days of praise, to the time when the ends of the world would remember and turn unto the Lord.
While upon the Cross, Christ looked on to the time when the earth would be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters that cover the sea. When the people of all nations would worship Him. He knew that the Kingdom would be the Lord’s; that He would be Governor among the nations. Blessed be God. One of these days Christ’s anticipation will be fulfilled.
A seed shall serve Him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. He shall see the travail of His soul and shall be satisfied. The ones who have been born again, shall hear from Israel restored, the blessed news, that God hath done this.
