0513. The King's Daughter
The King’s Daughter
"Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father’s house;
"So shall the King greatly desire thy beauty: for He is thy Lord; and worship thou Him.
"The King’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.
"She shall be brought unto the King in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee" (Psa_45:10-11,Psa_45:13-14).
The verses before us have to do with the daughter, and not the Queen. There must be a distinction between the two.
The Queen comes with the King, when He comes to establish His Kingdom. The daughter comes to Him after the marriage has been consummated.
To our minds, the daughter refers to the remnant of Israel. The twelve tribes restored. These are invited by the returned King to leave all and to come and worship Him. The King’s daughter represents an holy, and much loved people. She is all glorious within the palace. She is beautifully arrayed. She is brought in with gladness and rejoicing.
How blessed will be the day when the Lord rests in the midst of His people! He will rejoice over them. He will rest in His love. He will joy over them with singing. Israel too will rejoice. Instead of a heart of stone, she will be given a heart of flesh. She will be cleansed of all idols. Her delight will be in the Lord. She will take down her harp from the willow tree, where it has hung for so many centuries, and she will play a song of loves. She will shout and sing.
The honored, forgiven and restored daughter of Zion will come unto the King and be kissed and clothed as the returning prodigal was kissed and clothed.
What a time of feasting and of song awaits the prodigal daughter, when she returns from the far country! Feasting with the King, is better than famishing with swine.
Who comes dancing, so entrancing,
‘Tis His daughter, hear her sing;
No more of sighing, nor of crying,
Israel accepts her King.
