The Companions of the King’s Daughter

"And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat Thy favour.

"She shall be brought unto the King in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto Thee" (Psa_45:12,Psa_45:14).

"The virgins, her companions, that follow her;" and "the daughter of Tyre" and even "the rich among the people" are now before us. When the King’s daughter is restored the King’s household, then the nations of the earth will seek her favor. The Gentiles will take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying: "We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you."

Israel shall be brought first–the Gentiles shall follow after. Israel shall be God’s light and glory to the nations of the earth. The nations will be dandled upon her knees, and nestled upon her bosom.

The King’s daughter will be there, and every kindred, tongue and tribe and nation will follow in her pathway.

Ruth, the Gentile, followed hard after Naomi the Jew. Naomi had lost much in her wanderings among the Moabites. Elimelech had died. Mahlon had died. Chilion had died.

Naomi was returning empty to Bethlehem-Judah, the house of bread. She was returning to seek the favor of Boaz her kinsman-redeemer.

Ruth went along. She gleaned in the fields of Boaz. She lay at Boaz’s feet.

And many virgins, Gentile nations, who have, perhaps, stood cleaner than some, will follow the daughter of the King, when she returns to God.

And the daughter of Tyre, a nation which had not known God, shall be there with a gift.

And the rich, who had never cared for Christ the Lord, will come to Christ the King and intreat His favor.

All this awaits the coming of Christ as King.

Who cometh clinging, gifts they’re bringing,

(To the skirts of Jews they cling);

Once abhoring, now adoring,

Gentiles come to seek the King.
