0600. Enduring Peace
Enduring Peace
"In His days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace, so long as the moon endureth" (Psa_72:7).
The first rainbow presents to us merely a half circle, the rainbow of our lesson presents a full circle–the rainbow encircled the throne.
All of this is most significant. The full circle shows unending and enduring peace.
The rainbow not only covers the thousand-year reign but tells us that "of His Kingdom there shall be no end." Beyond the millennium lie ages upon ages of unending peace.
"That in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace, in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus."
The half rainbow says, "So long as My bow appears"–the full rainbow says, "forever more."
At the end of the thousand years, satan will be loosed a little season, but that will only lead to the recognition of those who are not truly God’s; the last rebellion is short-lived. The peace of the righteous is unbroken; it forever endures–
Encircling Rainbow of God’s grace,
How blessed ’tis to know,
That Christ will bring unending peace
Unto the world below.
No more shall wars and terror reign,
Their ravages shall cease,
And peace and righteousness prevail,
And grace shall e’er increase.
