The Believer’s Assured Victory

"That ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" (Eph_6:11).

"Wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked" (Eph_6:16).

"And they overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb, and by the Word of their testimony" (Rev_12:11).

We are glad to come to a brighter side in this message. God forewarned the believer of satan’s strategies and He also forearmed him.

1. We could not now examine, in detail, the blessed armor with which we are equipped. The best we can do is to suggest that this armor is sufficient to meet satan at every turn.

The Bible says that we shall be able to quench every fiery dart of the wicked one. Bless God! we need not turn our backs upon the enemy. When be comes in like a flood, the Spirit of God will lift up a standard against him.

We do praise God that all over the country today, both home and abroad, there are many individual churches and tens of thousands of individual believers who are standing stanch and true for the faith. They are standing undaunted and unafraid.

Jesus Christ leads such saints in the train of His triumphs. His victory is theirs. In Him they are more than conquerors.

2. God has given into the hands of His people, a testimony which is a mighty weapon against the onrush of the enemy.

"They overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony."

A critic with no vital message has no possible means with which to secure victory over satan.

A believer, with the Sword of the Spirit, at his tongue’s end has every means for a progressive and victorious conflict.

Paul could turn men from satan to God, because he was a minister and a witness of a Gospel which was the power of God unto salvation to every one that believed–Compare Act_26:18 with Rom_1:18.

When the pulpit has a clear, Scriptural testimony it has a power which all the hosts of satan cannot withstand.

Our Lord met satan in the wilderness with the Word of God–let us meet him in a like manner.

3. Let no Christian go forth in the Word or work of God unless he goes fully clad in the Christian’s armor, with a clear and fearless testimony, and above all, covered by the precious Blood of Christ.

God has given us ample protection against satan’s wiles. Let us make use of it.

4. Thank God there is a time coming when satan will be bound and put into the pit of the abyss for a thousand years. Thank God there is another day, later on, when the devil will be cast into the lake of fire. We have present victory, we shall have a future complete and eternal deliverance.
