The Remedy for the Unbeliever

"To preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of Bight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised" (Luk_4:18).

Jehoiachin lay captive in Babylon for thirty-seven years. Then he was lifted up out of prison; his throne was set above the thrones of the kings that were with him in Babylon; his prison garments were changed; he was given a daily allowance; and he ate bread before the king of Babylon all the days of his life.

Mephibosheth, Jonathan’s son, dwelt a refugee in the land of Lo-debar, the place of no pasture. David, for Jonathan’s sake, showed him the kindness of God. He sent and fetched him from Lo-debar; he restored him all the private goods to which he was legally entitled as Saul’s heir; he clothed him; he gave him a place at the king’s table.

The prodigal son was in the far country, but when he came home again, the father saw him, and ran, and fell on his neck and kissed him; he changed his garments; put the best robe upon him; put a ring on his hand; shoes on his feet; killed the fatted calf and made merry.

Saul was journeying toward Damascus with a heart against Jesus Christ. Christ met him by the way; spoke to him; told him He was Jesus, Saviour; saved him; turned him from the power of satan unto God; raised him up from spiritual death and bondage to sin; lifted him to a seat in the Heavenlies forevermore.

Thank God, there is hope for the sinner. Deliverance is promised. Christ is the deliverer. He will save from satan’s power and hand.

Satan is strong, Christ is stronger. Satan is a hard taskmaster? Then turn to Christ, for "His yoke is easy and His burden is light."
