0964. The Resurrection of Saints
The Resurrection of Saints
It is customary to study or to preach upon the resurrection of Christ once every year.
The resurrection, however, is a theme which needs to be kept before us continually.
He who leaves his Christ in the tomb walks in darkness.
Justification is found at the Cross, but sanctification is found from the risen, ascended and the seated Lord.
The believer who does not walk in close fellowship with the Living Christ will walk in darkness.
In the study of this precious theme we have taken the liberty of using five words suggested by Dr. W. B. Riley in his sermon on the 15th chapter of I Corinthians. We do not follow Dr. Riley's general discourse. We rob him of his "five words" because they are so appropriate, and we could not better them. We have added to the alliteration two words of our own–the words "Implication" and "Inquiry."
We trust that the study of this lesson will prove both instructive and inspiring.
A dead Christ would rob us of everything that is precious to us. Christ in the tomb would leave us as a ship adrift upon a shoreless, storm-tossed sea.
