Blind Bartimaeus or Salvation Made Simple

His Condition (Mar_10:46).

His Opportunity (Mar_10:46).

His Hindrances (Mar_10:48).

His Earnestness (Mar_10:48).

His Appeal (Mar_10:47).

His Approach to Christ (Mar_10:50).

His Healing (Mar_10:51-52).

There are a number of wonderful scenes that occurred at Jericho. It was at Jericho that the walls fell down as Joshua surrounded the city. It was from the wall of Jericho that the woman let down the scarlet cord. It was on the Jericho road that we have the setting of the parable of the good Samaritan. It was in Jericho Zacchaeus lived, who climbed up into a tree to see the Lord.

Perhaps the most striking of all occurrences around the city, however, is the one which we study here. Every city has its neglected poor; every city has its group of beggars; but few cities have ever had such a wonderful transformation on the part of one of its blind beggars, as took place in Jericho, in the case of Bartimaeus.

We are bringing this before you because the healing of Bartimaeus is a beautiful type of the Gospel. We trust that the Spirit of God will lend His aid, to bring forth the lesson which the story of the blind man teaches.
