Where the New Creature Is All in All

The present world is divided into three classes, according to the Word of God. There is Jew and Gentile and the Church of God. The Jew and the Gentile are both under sin. By the Jew we mean particularly Abraham's seed through Isaac, known as Israel. In the chapter which we are now studying, God has given to Israel the name of the "circumcision." This is done because the name is expressive of ceremonial rites.

The Gentiles include everybody not Jews, and the name given to the Gentiles in the chapter of to-day is the "uncircumcision." Circumcision with its religious rites and ceremonies is not anything in Christ Jesus; uncircumcision with its philosophies and idolatries is not anything in Christ Jesus.
