"What Think Ye of Christ?"

Mat_22:34-46

NO MAN EVER WAS BORN as Christ was Born (Isa_7:14).

NO MAN EVER LIVED as Christ Lived (Joh_8:46).

NO MAN EVER SPAKE as Christ Spake (Joh_7:46).

NO MAN EVER WROUGHT as Christ Wrought (Joh_15:24).

NO MAN EVER CLAIMED what Christ Claimed (Joh_16:28)

NO MAN EVER UNDERTOOK what Christ Undertook (Mat_28:18-19).

NO MAN EVER DIED as Christ Died (Rom_5:8).

The Lord Jesus Christ stands forth with a sublime supremacy over all men who have ever lived. None have ever been born as He was born; have lived as He lived, spoken as He spake, wrought as He wrought, claimed what He claimed, undertaken as He undertook, or died as He died.

The question asked by the Lord, "What think ye of Christ?" may well be asked of all. Whose son was He? How was He born?

Some there are who would liken Christ to Elijah, or to Jeremiah or to one of the prophets–but Whom do we say that He is?

The disciples once said: "Let us make here three tabernacles; one for Thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias." Immediately God spake from Heaven and asserted: "This is My beloved Son, * * hear Him." Thus God placed forever the supremacy of Christ over the greatest of men. In all things He is pre-eminent.

When Christ questioned the Pharisees, they proclaimed that Christ was David's son. Immediately Christ replied: "How then doth David, in spirit, call Him Lord?"–If He was David's Lord, how was He his son?

What we must do is to bow the knee before Christ and acknowledge Him our Lord and our God.
