Trafficking in Lives

"The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet * * and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls (lives) of men" (Rev_18:12-13).

We have before us a description of restored Babylon. Babylon is destined to become the great commercial city of the world. In her, men of the earth will traffick and become rich.

Among the things in which Babylon will trade, is included the souls (lives) of men.

The word astounds us–think of selling human lives.

This is not a mere picture of trafficking in human bodies, but in human lives–souls.

It is not merely selling slaves in the mart, it is selling lives.

It is the youth of the land selling their characters, their strength, their ambitions, their all, until they become the chattel of satan and of satan's hordes.

We are not yet living in those awful days, but we are living in the shadow of them. The men and the women of our day under satan's guiding hand are trafficking in the lives of men.

There is only one safety and that is to bring the life unto Jesus Christ and commit it to Him for safe keeping.

Oh, that the young and the old might believe now unto the saving of their lives!
