Ye Received Me Not

"I am come in My Father's name, and ye receive Me not" (Joh_5:43).

Jesus Christ came into "the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own and His own received Him not" (Joh_1:10-11). The story from the cradle to the grave was one of rejection. Christ found no room in Nazareth, the city of His youth. He was not welcomed to the Temple, His own Father's house; He was not even wanted upon the earth. Men received Him not: but, "to as many as received Him, to them gave He the right to become the children of God, even to as many as believed on His name."

It is just as true today, as it was in the earth-life of our Lord. Christ is not wanted. The world will not have Christ in their hearts; they have Him under their feet. Certainly if they believe Him not, they will not receive Him. Too frequently we hear personal workers urging sinners to give their hearts to God. This is not correct instruction. What the sinner must do is to open his heart to Christ, and to receive the Lord Jesus.

Who will receive Christ as Saviour?

Who will receive Christ as Lord?

Who will receive Christ as Messiah, the Anointed?
