The Rapture Proved by the Imminent Coming of Christ
"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ" (Tit_2:13).
The Rapture of the saints is proved by the attitude which saints are to hold toward the Lord's Coming.
This attitude moreover conclusively shows that the Rapture must precede the tribulation, because, otherwise, the saints would possess a fearful looking for of fiery judgment and indignation which would consume the adversary.
But the saints are taught to be looking for a blessed hope–the glorious appearing.
Christians are to live in momentary anticipation and expectation of the Lord's Return. The Word of God does not suffer any other event to delay His coming, and to rob the Church of its expectant attitude.
1. We are to be looking for His coming–looking for that blessed hope (see Tit_2:13).
2. We are to be waiting for His coming–waiting for His Son from Heaven (see 1Th_1:10).
3. We are to be loving His Coming–unto all those who love His appearing (see 2Ti_4:8).
4. We are to be praying for His coming–even so come, Lord Jesus (see Rev_22:20).
