One in Receiving Divine Worship

"Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God" (Mat_4:10).

1. The Father Is Worshiped

"True worshippers shall worship the Father" (Joh_4:23).

"I bow my knees unto the Father" (Eph_3:14).

Everyone is ready to grant that our prayers should be directed unto God: that they who worship, should worship the Father. This is clearly the teaching of the Word.

2. The Son Is Worshiped

"And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him" (Mat_28:9).

"Let all the angels of God worship him" (Heb_1:6).

Jesus Christ said unto the devil, "Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve." It is true, however, that Christ not only accepted Divine worship, for Himself, but He also demanded it. Jesus Christ will also be worshiped when the throne is set in the Heavens. Arch-angel and angel, the four Living Ones, and the four and twenty elders, with all the hosts of Heaven will fall down and worship Him.

In very truth, every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of the Father.

Surely He Who taught that God only, should be worshiped must Himself be God, since He accepted worship.

3. The Spirit Is Worshiped

"And they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty" (Rev_4:8).

In the above scene, the Holy Spirit is described as the Seven Spirits before the throne; He is there with the Father, and is jointly worshiped by the angelic ones, who rest not day nor night as they acclaim, Holy, holy, holy.
