There is a hue and cry in the world today against the Bible story of the Blood of Christ. It is the purpose of this message to show that salvation is by the Blood alone, and that the doctrine of the substitutionary death of Christ is the only way through which man can be saved.

We propose first of all to look into the Bible story of God Himself. When we have discovered that God is a holy God and a righteous God, and that man is sinful and that his sin separates him from God, then we will be ready to assert that God was shut up to the work of a substitute. The main stress of this message, however, is to show the proper place that the Blood of Christ holds in the Bible as a whole. The Blood of the Cross is not a doctrine that was sprung by the Apostle Paul as a new theory, put across by a brilliant brain. The Blood of the Cross is the great doctrine of the whole Bible. It is set forth in type, in figure, or in definite statement in practically every Book of the Bible. It is in Genesis and it is in Revelation. As we stand in the Garden and consider the Fall, we see the promise of the shed Blood. As we stand in the New Jerusalem and behold the gathered hosts around the throne of God and of the Lamb, we read that they are there because they are under the Blood.

He who would penknife the Scriptural reference concerning the Blood from his Bible, will have a book that is riddled beyond recognition and fit only for the waste-basket.
