102. Christ and the Inness of Things

Christ ever taught the inness of things.

1. To Nicodemus it was inward life—Joh_3:7.

2. To the woman of Samaria, inward supply—Joh_4:14.

3. To Saul of Tarsus, inward light—Act_26:13-19.

4. To the demoniac, inward liberty—Mar_5:15.

5. To the palsied man, inward blessing—Mar_2:5, Mar_2:9.

6. To Simon the Pharisee, inward love—Luk_7:47.

7. To the Pharisees, inward cleansing—Mat_23:25, Mat_23:26. Whitewash is good for cellars, but it is no good for sinners.

Sinners need to be washed white in the Blood of the Lamb.
