104. Christianity—What Is It?

“Christianise your modern Christianity,” so said Joseph Cook, of Boston, on one occasion. Or, as it has been put in another quarter, “There is a tremendous lot of Ianity, but very little Christianity.” That leads one to ask the question, “What is Christianity?” There is only one answer—”Christ.”

1. Christ in the glory of His Deity—Mat_16:16.

2. Christ in the glow of His Love—2Co_5:14; Gal_2:20.

3. Christ in the reality of His Humanity—1Ti_2:5.

4. Christ in the sufficiency of His Death—Heb_9:14, Heb_9:28.

5. Christ in the indwelling of His Spirit—Eph_3:17.

6. Christ in the beauty of His Character—Heb_7:26.

7. Christ in the hope of His Glory—Col_1:27.
