188. Christ’s Resurrection Proclaimed
No one can read through the Book of the Acts without being convinced that Christ’s resurrection is the predominating theme of its witness.
1. Luke opens his treatise by affirming it—Act_1:3.
2. Matthias is added to the apostleship that he may bear witness to it—Act_1:23.
3. Peter, on the Day of Pentecost, unfolds certain Old Testament Scriptures as embodying the fact—Act_2:31-32; and affirms the same fact in connection with the healing of the lame man—Act_3:15.
4. The first persecution was caused by the declaration of Christ’s resurrection—Act_4:2, Act_4:10, Act_4:33.
5. Peter preached the resurrection of Christ again and again—Act_5:29-32; Act_10:39-41.
6. Paul is constant in his testimony to the resurrection of Christ—Act_13:30-38; Act_17:31; Act_23:6-10; Act_24:15, Act_24:21; Act_26:23.
