338. Fear

1. A Sorry Condition. “No fear of God” (Psa_36:1).

2. A Saving Blessing. “The fear of God came upon them” (1Sa_11:7; 2Ch_14:14; 2Ch_17:10; 2Ch_19:7).

3. A Preventing Grace. “I will trust, and not be afraid” (Isa_12:2).

4. A Loving Word. “Fear not” (Isa_41:10; Isa_44:8).

5. A Happy State. “Happy the man that feareth alway” (Pro_28:14).

6. A Commanding Power. “The dread of thee, and the fear of thee” (Deu_2:25; Deu_11:25).

If we fear to disobey God we need not fear Him. Fear haunts us all the time if we do not fear God. Abiding in the secret place of the Lord’s presence, no “terror” (fear) shall disturb us.
