490. Judgments Relating to Believers

1. God’s judgment upon us as sinners in Christ on the Cross. “By a sacrifice for sin (margin), condemned sin in the flesh” (Rom_8:3).

2. Believers’ judgment on himself. “If we would judge ourselves we shall not be judged” (1Co_11:31).

3. The Lord’s judgment of His children. “When we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord” (1Co_11:32).

4. The Church’s Judgment in Discipline. “Judged him that hath done this wrong” (1Co_5:3-5).

5. The Lord’s judgment of the “House” of Christendom. “Judgment must begin at the house of God” (1Pe_4:17).

6. Believers’ judgment of the world and angels. “The saints shall judge the world… We shall judge angels” (1Co_6:2-3).

7. The Judgment Seat of Christ, before which believers will be examined—1Co_4:5; their conduct towards their fellow-believers scrutinised—Rom. xiv; their work tested—1Co_3:10-15; their motives looked at—2Co_5:9-10; and rewards given—1Pe_1:7.
