509. Letting the Light Shine at Home

“Go home” (Mar_5:19) “and show how great things God hath done unto thee” (Luk_8:39). It is in the home we need to have—

1. Our speech seasoned with the salt of grace, that we may speak sweetly—Col_4:6.

2. Our manners tempered with the grace of courteousness, that we may act graciously—1Pe_3:8.

3. Our behaviour toned with the godliness of chastity, that we may attract powerfully—1Pe_3:1, 1Pe_3:2.

4. Our conduct tuned with the Word of God, that we may act consistently—Tit_2:1-14.

5. Our rule ruled with the authority of Heaven, that we may behave consecratingly—1Ti_3:1-7.

6. Our office dominated with the beauty of faithfulness, that we may live blamelessly—1Ti_3:8-13.

7. And our relations in life adjusted with the direction of the Spirit, that we may show we have received the Spirit fully—Col_3:17; Col_4:1; Eph_5:18; Eph_6:9.
