544. Love’s Character

“The Love of God” Rom_5:5

1. Divine in its nature. “God is Love” (1Jn_4:8, 1Jn_4:16).

2. Definite in its giving. “God so loved… He gave” (Joh_3:16).

3. Decisive in its assurance. “As My Father hath loved Me, so have I” (Joh_15:9).

4. Deliberate in its service. “Having loved… He loved to the end” (Joh_13:1).

5. Dominating in its power. “The love of Christ constraineth” (2Co_5:14).

6. Durable in its affection. “I have loved thee with an everlasting love” (Jer_31:3).

7. Dedicating in its influence. “He that dwelleth in love, dwelleth in God, and God in him” (1Jn_4:16).
