572. Nazarite

“Nazarite” comes from “Nawzar,” to separate. If we ponder Numbers 6 we shall find a sevenfold separation stated and suggested.

1. Separation from the common run—Num_6:2.

2. Separation from uncleanness—Num_6:7.

3. Separation from strong drink and all its associations—Num_6:3, Num_6:4.

4. Separation from all that is associated with death—Num_6:6.

5. Separation from the cuttings of man—Num_6:5.

6. Separation from unclean food—Num_6:4.

7. Separation from self—Num_6:2, etc.
