591. Obtaining People
The words “taken,” “perceived,” “attained,” “obtain,” “comprehend,” “apprehend,” and “overtake” in the following Scriptures are one and the same in the Greek.
1. An Obtained Sinner. “Taken in adultery” (Joh_8:3).
2. An Obtained Knowledge. “Perceived they were unlearned” (Act_4:13).
3. An Obtained Righteousness. “Have attained to righteousness” (Rom_9:30).
4. An Obtained Prize. “So run, that ye may obtain” (1Co_9:24).
5. An Obtained Christ. “May be able to comprehend with all saints,” etc. (Eph_3:18). Not Christ’s love, but Himself.
6. An Obtained Purpose. “That I may apprehend that for which I am apprehended” (Php_3:12).
7. An Obtained Surprise. “Should overtake you as a thief” (1Th_5:4).
