656. Prayer’s Attitude

“He Kneeled Down and Prayed” Luk_22:41

1. Kneel reverently, as Solomon did at the dedication of the Temple—2Ch_6:13.

2. Kneel continually, as Daniel did, three times a day—Dan_6:10.

3. Kneel worshippingly, as the Psalmist urges, for Jehovah is our Maker—Psa_95:6.

4. Kneel submissively, as Christ did in the Garden of Gethsemane—Luk_22:41.

5. Kneel earnestly, as the leper did when he besought Christ for cleansing—Mar_1:40.

6. Kneel forgivingly, as Stephen did when he prayed for his murderers—Act_7:60.

7. Kneel intercedingly, as Peter did when he prayed for Tabitha—Act_9:40.

8. Kneel faithfully, like Paul, when he prayed for the Church in Ephesus—Act_20:36.

9. Kneel confidently, like the apostle, when he recognised God as his Father—Eph_3:14.
