757. Shook Off

The Greek word apotinasso, rendered “shook off” in Act_28:5, is a cognate word to apotithemi. In connection with the latter term there are several things the believer is told to shake or put off.

1. The Works of Darkness—Rom_13:12.

2. Former Lusts—Eph_4:22.

3. Lying, etc.—Eph_4:25.

4. Anger, etc.—Col_3:8.

5. Every Weight—Heb_12:1.

6. All Filthiness—Jas_1:21.

7. All Malice, etc.—1Pe_2:1.
