775. Sins of the Body

Sometimes in thinking of the welfare of the soul, we bring woe to the body.

1. Sins of unholy passion. When the flesh has sway, the spirit goes under—Gal_5:19-21.

2. Sins of unbridled appetite. The desire for strong drink is the worst of these—Eph_5:18.

3. Sins of expensive adornment. A small mind is seen in a dressy body—1Pe_3:3.

4. Sins of not yielding the body to the Lord’s keeping—Rom_12:1.

5. The sin of not recognising that the members of the body are the members of Christ—1Co_6:15.

6. The sin of not keeping the body under the Spirit—1Co_9:27.

7. The sin of not treating the body as the temple of the Holy Spirit—1Co_3:16.

8. The sin of not remembering the body belongs to Christ—1Co_6:20, R.V.
