834. The Millennium

The Millennium is variously described in the Word.

1. As a “thousand years” (Rev_20:4-6).

2. As “the Day of the Lord” (Zec_14:1; Zep_1:7).

3. As “that Day” (Isa_2:11, Isa_2:17; Isa_11:11; Isa_20:6; Isaiah 26, etc).

4. As “the Times of Restitution” (Act_3:21).

5. As “the Regeneration” (Mat_19:28).

6. As “the Liberty of the Glory” (Rom_8:21, R.V.).

7. As “the Age to Come” (Eph_1:21, R.V.; Heb_6:5. The word “world” in these verses is “aion,” which means an age).

8. As “the World to Come” (Heb_1:6; Heb_2:5). The “world” in these verses is oikoumene, and means the inhabited earth, or civilised world.—See Luk_2:1.

9. As “His Kingdom” (Dan_7:14; Rev_11:15).

10. As typified in the Feast of Tabernacles—Lev_23:33-36.
