For Christians, Holy Week is usually a somber time capped with a joyous Easter celebration, but sometimes you have to laugh at what happens at churches.

Congregations often use the season to do special services with an eye toward potential guests in the building. Those special services don’t always go as planned.

Here are four church Easter service fails to make you laugh today.

1. Off the Cross a Little Early

Christians can rejoice that Jesus did not stay on the cross, but this Jesus got down a little too soon.

2. Unforgettable Illustration

If the point of a sermon illustration is to help you remember the message, I’d say this one worked—but probably not the way the pastor intended it.

3. Resurrection on Fire

Just wait for it. You’ll see why they picked the absolute best person to play Jesus. A flaming tomb? No worries.

4. Twisted Ascension

I’m not sure what’s best in this attempt to portray Jesus’ ascension: the Hallelujah chorus or the sudden realization on Jesus’ part that this is going wrong and there’s nothing he can do about it.
