description: (hide) John Ritenbaugh, citing an article in the Charlotte Observer, suggests that the current political changes in Israel are tenuous and very unstable. After Prime Minister Olmert was driven from power, a tenuous coalition party emerged headed by Tzipi Livni, but highly dependent upon the support of the right-wing Shas Party, closer to Benjamin Netanyahu’s hawkish position than the dovish centrist Kadima Party. If the Shas Party defects to Netanyahu, then a military attack on Iran’s nuclear facility (similar to the earlier attack on Iraq’s nuclear facility) would be imminent.
