description: (hide) David Grabbe, reflecting on the prophecy in Daniel 7 about Satan’s attempt at wearing out the saints, suggests that Satan is doing a good job at distracting us and wearing us out. A means of avoiding this is found in the symbolism of the wave offerings, which were a part of the peace offering. On Pentecost, more peace offerings were made than at any other time. The wave sheaf offering and the wave offering of the two loaves on Pentecost are like bookends of the process of completing the First Fruits. As long as we remain within the process, we are protected from the devastating effects of Satan wearing us down, realizing that while we still are carnal, we are in the process of being perfected and will eventually displace sin with spirituality. God loves us as we are but He loves us too much to leave us that way, and He will put us through a rigorous process until our resurrection. True satisfaction can only come from a right relationship with God.
