The Unique Gift Of Being “Me” – Bible study

God has given each of us as individuals, unique talents to be used for the benefit of mankind (Matthew 25:14-23-NKJV; Matthew 5:14-16-NKJV). Just think, each of us has a unique talent (or talents), to share with others, that no one else on earth has. Just the simple fact of being uniquely me, is something that no one else on earth can be.

By actively participating in the game of life, we develop our God-given talents to share with others not to be mere spectators in the game (2 Timothy 2:1-2-NKJV).

As an example of non-participation, former University of Oklahoma football coach, Bud Wilkinson, was once asked by a sports reporter about how much college football contributed to the national physical fitness program. When he replied with an abrupt nothing, the startled reporter asked, Why not? Wilkinson replied, Well, football is a game of 22 players on a playing field desperately needing a rest, and 40,000 spectators in the stands desperately needing some exercise!

Brethren, we do not need a greater harvest we need more workers to go into the fields that are ready to be harvested! (John 4:35-NKJV; cf. Matthew 9:37-38-NKJV; Luke 10:1-2-NKJV).

We desperately need more faithful Christians who are willing to come to spiritual maturity (Hebrews 5:14-NKJV), becoming an active participant in Christs game plan using their unique God-given talents and abilities to take the saving gospel to all the world (1 Peter 4:10-11-NKJV – see commentary; cf. Matthew 28:19-20-NKJV; Mark 16:15-16-NKJV).

We do not need more pews nor pew warmers, but spiritually mature Christians who are willing to exercise the unique gifts that God has provided only to them, in order to fulfill His will, not only in their lives, but in the lives of others (Matthew 7:21-NKJV; Acts 8:25-40-NKJV).

If faithful Christians will do that, more pews will be filled to overflowing, with Gods people whose warmth radiates from the heart (Romans 6:17-NKJV; Romans 10:10-NKJV; cf. Psalm 119:11-12-NKJV; Psalm 119:145-146-NKJV).
